Canada's Trudeau stresses the need for peaceful end to pipeline protests

Indigenous communities across Canada have blocked key rail lines for nearly two weeks to oppose construction of the Coastal GasLink pipeline in British Columbia, which has forced Canada’s biggest railroad, Canadian National Railway Co, to shut operations in eastern Canada. Trudeau said he has been in touch with indigenous communities and premiers about the situation, but declined to say what measures were discussed to diffuse the situation.

Raze hell.

Peaceful? Who are the aggressors? Who has the weapons?

The solution to this was outlined years ago. Deescolate and move to an alternative route that doesn't cross unceded land. Such a rout has already been suggested.

It’s not a protest, it’s accountability for the first time. Facing up to the horrors this country has inflicted on indigenous people is a long time coming, I can think of no one better to have to bear the weight than Trudeau. He’s done enough preforming, time for action.

Why, Canada? Why?
