A tense standoff at a U.S.-Canadian border crossing crucial to both countries' economies appeared to be dissolving peacefully as Canadian police moved in.

WINDSOR, Ontario -- A tense standoff at a U.S.-Canadian border crossing crucial to both countries' economies appeared to be dissolving peacefully Saturday as Canadian police moved in to disperse the nearly weeklong blockade and protesters began leaving without resistance.

The demonstrations at the Ambassador Bridge, downtown Ottawa and elsewhere have targeted vaccine mandates and other coronavirus restrictions and vented fury toward Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, who has called the protesters a"fringe" of Canadian society. "It's a win-win," Koss said."The pandemic is rolling down right now, they can remove the mandates, all the mandates, and everyone's happy. The government does the right thing, and the protesters are all happy."

The Ambassador Bridge is the busiest U.S.-Canadian border crossing, carrying 25% of all trade between the two countries. The standoff came at a time when the auto industry is already struggling to maintain production in the face of pandemic-induced shortages of computer chips and other supply-chain disruptions.

About time Bye-bye, so long, farewell Perhaps its something more than just mask mandates and the 'falling off' of those mandates...maybe ABC should look into that aspect

Canada border blockade eases, protesters still block bridgeCanadian police have persuaded some demonstrators to move trucks they used to barricade a busy bridge crossing between Windsor, Ontario, and Detroit. But protesters still blocked access as night approached, defying a judge's order to disperse. All the cops did was tell them how much it would cost to tow them out of the way on the weekend is they didn't move them. That made their hart skip a beat and they hightailed it to move them out of the way. Just tell the cops it's an ANTIFA operation and see how quickly they clear things up. Mel_BrooksSA It's a protest, why would they honor the judges orders

US urges Canada to use federal powers to end bridge blockadeTORONTO (AP) — The Biden administration urged Prime Minister Justin Trudeau's government Thursday to use its federal powers to end the truck blockade by Canadians protesting the country’s COVID-19 restrictions, as the bumper-to-bumper demonstration forced auto plants on both sides of the border to shut down or scale back production. Duh🤔🤔🤔 The government should set fire to them So this is the latest insurrection. American money, laundered thru gofuckme and some Christian site, has locked up Canada. The police won't do much of anything, cause they support the divisiveness that has poisoned the US. Now same blockades planned in the US.
