'Call of Duty' Franchise Drives Player Engagement Through Third Quarter for Activision Blizzard

Video game publisher Activision Blizzard posted third-quarter financial results on Thursday, with results that were better than expected across major console and mobile titles and leading with the flagshipNet revenue reached $1.95 billion for the period ending September 30, as compared to $1.28 billion for the third quarter of last year.

"Our teams continue to execute our growth plans with excellence during incredibly challenging circumstances," said Bobby Kotick, chief executive officer of Activision Blizzard, in a statement."We are on a path to deliver sustained long- term growth across our fully-owned franchises. With confidence in our ability to continue to execute, we are raising our outlook for the year and remain enthusiastic for our growth prospects next year.
