More than 60% of Americans are burned out, according to an Insider survey. These charts show the stresses people are facing after more than a year of COVID-19.

for over 40 years. But only within the past year or two — and especially during the later months of the COVID-19 pandemic — has burnout hit so close to home for so many.: a nagging sense of exhaustion, cynicism about the work they do, and an overwhelming feeling that nothing they do is ever good enough. The answer in a nutshell is pretty burned out, according to the roughly 1,000 respondents to Insider's survey.

SurveyMonkey Audience doesn't try to weight its sample based on race or income. Recent polling data was collected from 1,093 respondents on April 30 with a margin of error of 3 percentage points. Sixty-eight percent of female respondents said they were at least somewhat burned out, compared to only 55% of male respondents.
