Quaden Bayles, who went viral after his mom posted a video of his reaction to getting bullied, had the 'best day of his life' leading Australia's Indigenous All-Stars rugby league team out onto the field, his mom says.

A young Australian boy who made headlines around the world after a video emerged of him saying he wanted to kill himself because of bullying has gone from"the worst day of his life to the best day of his life,” his mother said.

Quaden Bayles, 9, led Australia's Indigenous All-Stars rugby league team out onto the field in their game with the Maori All Stars in Queensland on Saturday. Speaking to reporters before the game on Friday, his mother Yarraka Bayles said it was his dream to play the full contact sport, according to the Reuters press agency.

After he received his invite to attend, she said he had gone from"the worst day of his life to the best day of his life.” As the teams made their entrance to cheers from the crowd, Bayles wearing noise cancelling headphones, held the match ball and All-Stars captain Joel Thompson’s hand.Sign Up

Thank you everyone who took an interest in this story. It highlights the cruelty of bullying. Kudos to the team and others for your public support for young child who's story struck a chord with all of us.

I’ve been watching this article unfold. His tears and his words tore at my heart. I’m glad Quaden’s countrymen heard him, rallied around him and his family. His smile is beautiful. But what about the others? The other 9 year old kids that feel they’d be better off dead. Yeah...

Move ON!

I’m confused, I thought there was a story stating the kid was older and that this was fake?

its usually the bullier who eventually grows up, except for trump and his family, they thrive on their meanest toward others. good Bayles!

Love the support . Keep it up 👏🏿

Did they get those shorts from 1970's NBA?

Seen tons of Instagram posts showing how fake this all is

And to think there are people who really believed this was a hoax and not another little boy being systematically bullied bc he’s different.

Eric Trump is condemning the bullying. What a joke. His dad once mocked a speech impaired reporter on stage.

beautiful

WONDERFUL that victim of bullying is getting experiences that the bullies can only dream about.

He is scamming a lots of people 😂

Seeing something like this gives me hope for the Human Race. Great story.

I am so incredibly grateful to this team and all the others who have stepped up for this young man. These lovely and loving memories can be stored up to get him through attacks of future creeps. We need to do so much more to put an end to this pernicious problem.

Young man deserves it.

This warms my heart!❤️
