This week, Italian fashion house Brunello Cucinelli joins forces with eyewear brand Oliver Peoples to launch their first collection. It’s a groundbreaking partnership because the release marks Brunello Cucinelli’s first venture into eyewear as well as the first-ever collaboration in the history of the brand.

When creating the collection, both brands aimed to incorporate influences from their places of origin: Solomeo, Italy and Southern California. Foundersays, “we imagined an eyewear collection that would reflect a shared aesthetic sensibility, that would express our respective cultures, from the medieval hamlet of Solomeo to the references of the ‘dolce vita’ and classic Italian cinema, to the contemporary culture of Oliver Peoples and its home state of California.

All of the styles are genderless and designed for both masculine and feminine features. Carolina says this was a key part of their creation, “We worked not only to create a feminine style or masculine style, we wanted to make for both.
