The video released by the Moab Police Department shows that an officer pulled over the van on Aug. 12 after it was seen speeding and hit a curb near the entrance to Arches National Park.
North Port Police Chief Todd Garrison publicly vented his frustration over his lack of help on Wednesday, pleading for Laundrie’s lawyer to arrange a conversation. “Two people left on a trip and one person returned!” the chief’s tweet said.“We’ve just been fighting this morning. Some personal issues,” she tells him, adding that she suffers from obsessive-compulsive disorder that affects her behavior.
“I’m not going to pursue anything because she is my fiancée and I love her. It was just a squabble. Sorry it had to get so public,” Laundrie says. Petito, 22, and the 23-year-old Laundrie started their drive across the U.S. in July from New York’s Long Island, where both grew up. They intended to reach Oregon by Halloween according to their social media accounts, but Petito vanished after her last known contact with family in late August from Grand Teton National Park in Wyoming, authorities said.
Garrison said at a news conference Thursday that the investigation remains a missing persons case, not a murder probe, and that no intensive searches have begun because it’s unclear exactly where authorities might look.
Last contact Grand Tetons Park. No, there’s no place to hide a small girl there…
THE BOYFRIEND DID IT.
Never speak to police..ask for lawyer
When I took a road trip with someone I eventually found super annoying, I just took the train the rest of the way.
Enough of her, interrogate the fiancé. I don't think she's alive and the entire PD knows it.
How in the H*ll is this news?
He is silent. Says it all.
A couple had an argument? No way
He is laughing in the video and calling her crazy. She is clearly distraught and crying. This looks like textbook gaslighting to me.
FindGabby wheresgabby
I see 2 possible scenarios here: (a) The guy got fed up with his mentally ill girlfriend’s emotional OCD outbursts/violence, and left her in the middle of nowhere or (b) it escalated to the point that a truly violent altercation ensued/he killed her. Either way, not good. Also:
Chile anytime two people go out somewhere and 1 person returns alone and says I dunno - they did something to the other person every single time
I've watched enough true crime to be willing to forgo the trial and just lock that bf away rn
I imagine thousands of people were like ' couplegoals' on her Insta too.
I mean, we all knew this when the news first broke. It's almost ALWAYS the case.
If the boyfriend wasn’t white he would’ve already been facing 25 to life smh
The boyfriend came back lawyered up, which is not suspicious...
Imagine that.
The boyfriend is highly suspicious!!!!!
Ya, if you leave on a cross country roadtrip with someone and return without them, you might be the guilty party.
