Bloomberg warns that America's public school system is failing, places some of the blame at teachers unions

In states and cities with strong accountability laws, charters have a proven academic track record of outperforming district schools," Bloomberg wrote."One recent nationwide analysis found that districts with a higher share of charters yield higher reading and math scores as well as higher graduation rates on average.

he’s completely right. we have a system set up almost like a prison, as if that is going to work for every child. I graduated high school with more knowledge of how to protect myself from hun violence than how to do my taxes

I was in a teachers union when I taught at a Community College. Retirement benefits and collective bargaining! I was fortunate to have what millions of workers wish for. Public schools are not failing. Unions are a good thing.
