Secretary of State Antony Blinken listens during a Senate Foreign Relations Committee hearing, Tuesday, Sept. 14, 2021 on Capitol Hill in Washington. Blinken was questioned about the Biden administration's handling of the U.S. withdraw from Afghanistan.

The top two members of the committee, New Jersey Democrat Bob Menendez and Idaho Republican James Risch, both assailed the withdrawal as a debacle in their opening remarks. “There’s not enough lipstick in the world to put on this pig to make it look any different than what it actually is,” Risch said., Blinken tried to deflect the criticism and maintained the administration had done the best it could under extremely trying and chaotic circumstances.

Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Fla., demanded to know how the intelligence had been so wrong, suggesting that not only the wrong people were in charge of assessing the situation but that the policy had been incoherent. “The evacuation was an extraordinary effort — under the most difficult conditions imaginable — by our diplomats, military, and intelligence professionals,” he said.Sen. Jeanne Shaheen of New Hampshire, the only woman on the committee who has long fought for the U.S. to protect the advances made by Afghan women and girls, lamented the current situation and said presidents and lawmakers of both parties shared the blame for the situation.

POTUS SecBlinken Then if that was the case maybe blinken and Biden should have listened to the military advisers telling them this was a bad decision and not do it. But they were more interested in scoring voter points than caring about Afghan lives they were destroying

US Narratives: 1983: US to Arm Mujahdeens agnst USSR 2011: PAK Involved in Harboring Terrorists 2021: PAK Involved in Harbouring Taliban 2031: US Lauds PAK Coordination with Taliban for peace in Afg Next: PAK & US r partners in Peace Superpowers play & spoilers gain benefits.

WHY THESE HEARINGS BEFOR TRUMP/ADMINISTRATION TREASON HEARINGS.? NO SENSE.

🙄🤔😷 'Since the Taliban began its offensive after President Joe Biden announced the withdrawal of U.S forces on April 14, the Taliban has more than tripled the number of districts controlled by the group, from 73 to 221.' Afghanistan TrumpsRetreat

It would be nice if the current administration just admit their planning was poor, could have started earlier, could have got more folks out, should have removed equipment, etc., so we can move on. They are focusing the spotlight on themselves.

Why aren't they calling Pompeo and Trump to explain their 'return Afghanistan to the Taliban' strategy they put in place in 2018 with the realease of its leader from prison!!?

Colin Powell once told Bush 'if u break it, u own it.' Becuz when u invade a nation on suspect charges...go in a kill a lot of its' ppl. 🇺🇸 tore up their social order, & imposed our form of Gov't U have to take ownership of outcomes. 🇺🇸 went into Iraq &🇦🇫 then washed its' hands!

I'm all for inquiry and questions from Congress on the Afghan pullout, but I'd also like them to get on with the inquiry and getting answers on the insurrection!

80 billion dollars worth of weapons left for the Taliban.. and we are going to give them aid. Lol.. what a joke..

Blinken only blink

Did we f*ck up the Afghan withdrawal plan? I thought this was always the plan? And that every contingency was in place?
