NEW YORK CITY—Calling the expense class warfare, local billionaire Kenneth Anderson was unfairly targeted Thursday with a 5% sales tax on a sandwich he was buying.
“You’re singling me out with this indefensible charge because I’m wealthy, and I will not stand for it!” said Anderson, adding that being required to pay the extra 52 cents for his BLT was meant simply as a way to harass him because his net worth is $18.4 billion. “I’m actually creating jobs by buying this sandwich, and yet you decide to cruelly penalize me for it? I’m tired of being attacked every time I make a purchase just because I’m a man of means.
Tax the smich
“Sorry, Mr. Bezos, we can’t write ‘I’m so persecuted!’ on your coffee cup.”
This is terrorism by liberals because Antifa and other grownup thoughts by fans of Elon Musk fed into my mouth by birds
This tax has inspired the billionaire space race just to avoid the 5% sales tax on sandwiches. Amazing to think what other sales could inspire
Elon can afford it.
Do we really want to live in a world where billionaires have to pay? Many people are legitimately asking
what is this, Nazi Germany?
Right!! They aren't supposed to pay any at all....gaaaahhhhhh!!!!!
The sandwich should feel lucky the billionaire chose to enrich it's life.
I always just assumed a platinum (or higher) credit card automatically deducted and simultaneously wrote off any tax cost.
He can keep the receipt and write it off or buy the restaurant and fire everyone. Probably the latter.
Still finds way to deduct it
But he created the opportunity for a sandwich to be made!
how can he be a job creator now?
A tax-deductable expense. so crisis over
I’ll decide where I’ll spend my imaginary money. 😒
It's double taxation, he was ALREADY taxed on that income! well okay technically he didn't actually pay taxes on it per se, but it's the principle of the thing
Some people just have no heart...😕 He even stood in the queue, for God's sake!!!
Is this in response to Gad Saad, the guy afraid of pronouns?
Then he'd better not come to Maryland, it's 6% here.
'Can't I write off the amortization of my privately owned jet against this goods and service tax?!' He exclaimed to the Subway sandwich artist who makes minimum wage that's been set there for over a decade.
