MANCHESTER, N.H. - Democratic U.S. presidential hopeful Joe Biden told reporters in New Hampshire on Tuesday he was headed to South Carolina later in the day - before the results of the nominating primary vote underway in the New England state are even released.

New Hampshire is the second contest of the U.S. presidential party nominating cycle. While few votes are on offer, it gives candidates a chance to build momentum for their campaigns.Sanders thanked a handful of supporters at McDonough Elementary School in Manchester, which was hosting a polling place.

Party officials have said they do not expect turnout on Tuesday to match the record set in 2008, the year of Barack Obama’s first presidential campaign.Biden, who finished a disappointing fourth in last week’s Iowa caucuses and is trailing in polls in New Hampshire, is moving on to what he hopes are more welcoming states. While visiting a Manchester donut shop, he told reporters that he will head to South Carolina later on Tuesday.

“The rest of the nation is out there,” Biden said. “There’s an awful lot of electoral votes to be had, and we’re going to see.”

JoeBiden will not engage in self-humiliation. If his internal polls show he's losing in SC, he will ally with Klobuchar and gracefully withdraw, having offered himself to her as her veep -- a proven commodity to help take Amy and Dems over the line: this vet journo's prediction.

Biden retreats to South CarolinaFacing the prospect of a bracing defeat, Joe Biden is fleeing New Hampshire today to retreat to his stronghold of South Carolina Hey ho,time to go! I do like Joe Biden but I’m afraid it’s for all the plus 70 candidates to step down. Younger democratic candidates win presidencies. Obama, Clinton, Carter, and Kennedy are good examples. Looser before the fight is over

It's amazing people want a socialist for president. Do some research, people. Bernie voters better start making it known they will vote 3rd party unless they are ok with DNC stealing it from him again. Just sayin. At least the next 4 years would be interesting with Trump. Just gotta deal with 2A and pro life judges. Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
