on U.S. personnel that the Pentagon blamed on Iranian-backed Shiite militia in Iraq, the administration official and a Defense official said.
The Wall Street Journal first reported on Biden's decision, which came at the last moment before aircraft were due to drop bombs on the second target. The target that was bombed last week by U.S. warplanes was a logistics waystation in eastern Syria that the Pentagon said was used by Iranian-backed militia. U.S. officials blamed a deadly Feb. 15 rocket attack on a U.S.-led coalition base in Irbil in northern Iraq on the paramilitary groups.
The U.S. military believes Iranian-backed militia likely are to blame for Wednesday's rocket attack, three Defense officials told NBC News. The Pentagon is not yet ready to say definitively who launched rockets at the Ain al-Asad base northwest of Baghdad, but the attack resembled previous assaults carried out by Iraqi Shiite militia armed and supported by Iran, the three officials said.
A civilian contractor at the al-Asad base suffered a cardiac arrest while taking shelter from the rocket attack and later died, according to the Pentagon. The vast base is home to about 1,400 coalition troops.
So Biden backed the War in Iraq and Syria and God only knows how many Children died with his support and now he cares. DEMOCRACY!

NBCNews This kinda reeks like propaganda doesn’t it?
NBCNews Come on, guys.
NBCNews Decent of him, but what if Syria intentionally places innocents in harms way to shied the bad guys?
NBCNews How about we just get out of Iraq? We went in almost twenty years ago under false pretenses. No WMDs were ever found. At that point, we should have paid reparations and left.
NBCNews If he was going to strike why did he not do it when the actual attack took place. Why did he strike after he finally talked to Netanyahu? Now he wants to go back to the original Iran Nuclear Deal where President Rouhani admitted paying bribes?
NBCNews Joe Biden is a good man and a great President!
