Bette Midler Says Trump Will 'Burn the White House Down' Before Leaving Office

Bette Midler, like many Americans, is concerned about the damage President Donald Trump may do before Joe Biden is sworn in as the next commander in chief on Jan. 20, and wants some accountability in the wake of the Jan. 6 attack on the Capitol.about the former reality TV personality and the insurrectionist riot, writing that Trump"planned, encouraged, and promoted the violent overthrow of our democracy.".

Ahead of the riot, Trump told a crowd of his supporters, who believe his claims that the election was stolen -- since debunked by elections officials as well as the Justice Department -- that he was going to walk down to the Capitol with them. He added,"You'll never take back our country with weakness. You have to show strength and you have to be strong." He defended his speech as"totally appropriate" Jan. 12.

Midler -- an outspoken critic of the president -- also wants others whom she believes helped fuel the riots held accountable, namely Rudy Giuliani, Rep. Mo Brooks of Alabama, and Donald Trump Jr."Let's discuss bringing charges against the incendiary traitors who spoke BEFORE #Trump on January 6,"
