An amazing Princess Leia cosplay celebrates Star Wars’ original hero as part of the 'May the 4th' celebrations, honoring Carrie Fisher’s legacy.

As Star Wars celebrates “May The 4th,” a beautiful Princess Leia cosplay honors Carrie Fisher’s legacy. There may be thousands of characters in the Star Wars galaxy, yet Leia Organa cosplays will always be present in fan events and other special Star Wars occasions. The late Carrie Fisher left an enormous legacy behind, and Princess Leia will forever be celebrated as a Star Wars icon.

Cosplayer rizuki shared an amazing Princess Leia cosplay as part of Star Wars' May The 4th celebrations, perfectly recreating Leia’s costume and hairstyle from A New Hope. SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY SCROLL TO CONTINUE WITH CONTENT Leia used many different hairstyles throughout the Star Wars movies, but the one from A New Hope is arguably her most recognizable look. Leia was among the first Star Wars heroes to ever appear on screen, and her decision to send R2-D2 on Obi-Wan Kenobi’s way would save the galaxy.

Carrie Fisher Made Princess Leia Her Own As rich as the word created by George Lucas in Star Wars was, the actors who embodied the original trilogy heroes helped make the film into a pop culture phenomenon. For example, Sir Alec Guinness borrowed Obi-Wan Kenobi his elegance and experience, while Mark Hamill brought sweetness to what could have been a generic action hero.

As a character, Leia will continue to be part of new Star Wars stories. For example, around the same time General Organa returned in The Force Awakens, an animated version of Princess Leia debuted in Star Wars Rebels. More recently, Vivien Lyra Blair played a young Leia in Obi-Wan Kenobi. The legacies of the Star Wars franchise and Carrie Fisher’s Leia are intertwined, and cosplays like this one prove it.
