Mandel Ngan / AFP / Getty Images 2017Two men jumped behind the pharmacy counter at the CVS at 2075 Mendocino Avenue in Santa Rosa and demanded employees get cash “from several registers,” Santa Rosa police said in a press release. They also allegedly demanded “several types of medication” from an employee.
A representative from the Santa Rosa Police Department did not immediately respond to a request for more details from SFGATE. Police said the two suspects then forced a female employee to go to a room where a safe was housed and demanded she open it. One of the suspects then allegedly beat the employee. She was hospitalized with non-life threatening injuries; her current condition is unclear.
Both individuals fled the CVS shortly after the alleged assault, with cash and medications in hand. Both were wearing masks, police said, and there appears to be no associated vehicle with the suspects.
