Fighting over the separatist territory of Nagorno-Karabakh continues for a fifth week, as top diplomats from Armenia and Azerbaijan prepare for more talks on a peaceful settlement of the conflict.

Vovik Zakharian, 72, walks past his apartment building damaged by shelling by Azerbaijan's forces during a military conflict in Shushi, outside Stepanakert, the separatist region of Nagorno-Karabakh, Thursday, Oct. 29, 2020. Fighting over the separatist territory of Nagorno-Karabakh continued on Thursday, as the latest cease-fire agreement brokered by the U.S. failed to halt the flare-up of a decades-old conflict between Armenia and Azerbaijan.

Nagorno-Karabakh’s separatist leader, Arayik Harutyunyan, said Azerbaijani troops had advanced to within 5 kilometers of the strategically placed town of Shushi. He urged residents to mobilize all their resources to fend off the attack. Separatist authorities of Nagorno-Karabakh accused Azerbaijani forces Thursday of shelling Stepanakert, Shushi and Martakert with Smerch multiple rocket systems, a devastating Soviet-designed weapon intended to ravage wide areas with explosives and cluster munitions. Martakert was also raided by Azerbaijani aircraft, officials said.

According to Nagorno-Karabakh officials, 1,166 of their troops and 39 civilians have been killed in the clashes so far. Azerbaijani authorities haven’t disclosed their military losses, but say the fighting has killed at least 90 civilians and wounded 392. The Minsk Group’s co-chairs were set to meet with the foreign ministers of Azerbaijan and Armenia in Geneva on Thursday, but the negotiations were pushed back until Friday and the prospects for a breakthrough appeared dim.

New deaths as fighting over Nagorno-Karabakh keeps flaringDeadly fighting between Armenian and Azerbaijani forces over the separatist region of Nagorno-Karabakh showed no signs of abating despite a U.S.-brokered cease-fire. The latest clashes, which began Sept. 27, have used heavy artillery, rockets and drones. Pretty sure we all know if biden gets in the deep state will look for an excuse to shove us into this conflict the same way Clinton did in the 90s Armenians just killed another 20 civilians in Barda, Azerbaijan. They target civilians on purpose, disregarding International Humanitarian Law. It’s a failed state, a terrorist state. May Azerbaijan finish this war quickly. Armenians are a stain on humanity and despicable This is what happens when we have an administration that doesn’t keep its word. Nobody else feels the need to keep their word or the deals we brokered either.

Civilians killed as Nagorno-Karabakh conflict deepensAzerbaijan and Armenia accused each other of killing civilians by shelling cities in and around Nagorno-Karabakh on Wednesday, in an escalation of a month-long conflict over the mountain enclave that has defied three ceasefires. Sometimes NZ seems so far away from things, & then we don't need to deal with neighbours shelling us. It sounds like the worst Neighbour wars episode ever, & no one taking responsibility. Whereas those who want to find a peaceful resolution are drowned out because they're 'weak'. Agenda 30 the common man vs the common man. Almost all of the civilian casualties are on the Azeri side in the cities located miles away from the combat zone. Azerbaijan is fighting against armenian terrorist regime inside Azerbaijan. Terrorists are not welcome in Azerbaijan. ArmeniaKillsCivilians babykillerarmenia
