The rush to get back seems out of sync with what we have learned in the last sixteen months. Here are four ways you can help ease that transition.

#2 - Determine a simple timeline and set a repeating check-in for updates.

Steadiness happens when people have a clear timeline to work off of, even if the timeline changes. Given that attention spans are still scrambled by the pandemic, making it easy for staff to check dates can help create reassurance that reduces anxiety. It can also be very helpful to let staff know that you will check-in on a regular schedule.

A battle of ultimatums and reactionary mass quitting may make for great headlines, but it makes for failure in reality. We have a low margin for error during re-entry. Regardless of what sector you might be in, if we are serious about robust economic recovery, we have to be serious about design better ways of working in the near and far-term future.
