Austin — and even Alaska — has better taco joints than San Antonio, according to Yelp

San Antonio might be the cradle of Tex-Mex, but only one taco shop reflects that, according to Yelp., a Northwest Side restaurant that touts its “craft sangria, margaritas, beer, sliders and tacos,” was the only San Antonio establishment to make Yelp’s list of the 100 best taco spots in the U.S.Austin’s Granny Tacos was ranked the fourth best taco restaurant in the country. Austin has three of America’s best taco joints, according to the crowd-sourced review company.

Yelp said in a statement that it compiled the best tacos in America by identifying restaurants that had a large number of reviews mentioning the word “taco.” The taco spots were then ranked by the total volume and number of stars given for reviews mentioning the hand-sized food. It also has a taco called “Basic B,” which with crisp panko breaded chicken breast, jalapeno cilantro ranch, peppered bacon and lettuce.

Chicago certainly does

This says more about Yelp than it does about San Antonio.
