Police in Aurora, Colorado, apologized after officers drew guns on a Black family and handcuffed at least two girls after mistaking their car for a stolen vehicle.that she had taken her nieces, sister and daughter out for a girls’ day at a nail salon Sunday, but the group got back in their car after they found the salon was closed. That's when police surrounded them and drew their weapons.
“There’s no excuse why you didn’t handle it a different type of way,” Gilliam told KUSA. “You could have even told them, ‘Step off to the side, let me ask your mom or your auntie a few questions, so we can get this cleared up.’ There was different ways to handle it.” Police said they were notified of a possible stolen vehicle just before 11 a.m. and located a vehicle that matched the description and license plate number. Police determined they had stopped the wrong car"shortly" after the people inside were ordered on the ground and some were handcuffed.
The vehicle reported stolen Sunday was a motorcycle with the same license plate number from Montana. Police said the mix-up may have been partly due to the fact that the car Gilliam was driving was reported stolen this year.

I’ve seen videos and read police reports as disgusting as it sounds like of these ages can do nasty crimes and it goes back to parenting which shows these kids were more than likely from young moms as a single parent which is a Hugh problem

I can understand a mistake..BUT...there were more than 5 cops and not one thought about handling this matter differently?...it basically tells me that is just part of that department’s culture.

let's be honest here. They had the wrong vehicle, the wrong kind of vehicle and they had no cause for this kind of drastic, dangerous in the heat, and psychologically damaging action. If the chief didn't give these orders to harrass Black people, then they would be fired today.
