The assistant director who handed Alec Baldwin the gun that killed a cinematographer last week had been fired from a previous job for another safety blunder, a producer says. There, too, a gun went off, slightly wounding a member of the film crew.

The producer is the second person to air doubts about Halls’ safety record. On Sunday, another crew member who worked with Halls said she raised concerns about him in 2019.

“This situation is not about Dave Halls. ... It’s in no way one person’s fault,” she said. “It’s a bigger conversation about safety on set and what we are trying to achieve with that culture.” Moments before the shooting, Baldwin was explaining how he was going to draw the revolver from his holster and where his arm would be positioned, court records show.

The affidavit released Sunday also included statements by director Joel Souza, who was standing behind Hutchins and was wounded.

“a producer says.” Alec Baldwin is a producer. Probably less culpable as an actor but more culpable as a producer.

You are missing the point. Alex Baldwin refused to follow gun safety rules and he is responsible for the shooting!!!!!!

Trying to be a serial killer with a catering truck always nearby is peak unprofessionalism.

Why are real guns even used Why not a realistic looking ‘prop’ gun?

I am sure there are several people to blame, but it ends with the one holding the gun. It takes less than 30sec to check the ammo in a revolver. The 'buck stops' with Alec Baldwin. He himself should have checked the rounds in that gun. This is at least involuntary manslaughter

TenikkaANjax Morning TenikkaANjax

Seems to me handing loaded guns to folks who think it's only blanks is his schtick. Once an accident, twice (for loaded guns?) IS NOT AN ACCIDENT

Toda a humanidade no caminho para fora da Bíblia viverá a eternidade indo para a direita ou para a esquerda.

cryborg He got hired again. How?

Wtf

Mandatory NRA gun safety for Hollywood seems like a great idea. 🤷‍♂️

I think the AD, director, or cinematographer wanted a closeup of the bullet leaving the gun, etc. so they tried to get the prop people to nerf the ammo. Which was the same mistake the crew on The Crow made with Brandon Lee.

so it was murdered. Cuz No one is that stupid.

Know why you pack your own chute before skydiving? Cuz 'YOU' responsible for it when you step out that door. Nobody should ever take someone else's work for granted in firearms. Know your weapon and you won't accidently shoot someone.

Mass shootings in schools & inner city crime is bad enough, but an accidental shooting on a movie set? It's a disgrace. It makes a mockery of the 2nd ammendment. Guns are meant to kill people deliberately, accidents make us look like amateurs. Thank God he wasn't playing Trump.

Why would there ever be live ammunition on a movie set. Seriously.

Some satanist church :|

Whose hand was the gun in? That’s whose fuckin fault it is!

That's way they are on stike.for safety measures

Film!!!

That's pure bullshit. This is just the media trying to blame anyone, and everyone except the one person responsible. The person who didn't check the weapon before deciding to practice his quick draw. Alec Baldwin killed a woman because he wasn't careful, he was reckless.

PrayersForRust.

Just fired the guy? This is like tabloid assistant directors, who know very little and their resume is faulty and incorrect. Fix this issue...or say blood was spent in making this movie.

So we have a serial killer on our hands

Let the spin begin… (You are looking in the wrong places.)

RubyGonzales2 And this story keeps getting worse.

Radlein Why was there even live ammo anywhere on a film set?

Baldwin's MeToo problems disappeared in one take.

Doesn't matter if he was careless. A safe, unloaded, gun will not kill someone even if you're careless. Someone else fuc*ed up.

Actors should also be trained under expert supervision to check weapons for live rounds. There's nothing complicated about a single action Colt.

A “producer” says? So why don’t d the “producer” hire this person?

Bob Odenkirk freak heart attack in New Mexico. Now this horrible, freak shooting. Who's running 'Hollywood In New Mexico?' Damien Thorne? Thoughts and prayers....

wowwwwww. Check references wth.

whoever brought live bullets on set is ultimately to blame

horrible

Why the FUCK are there real guns on movie sets? ?

It’s has to be asked what was Alec Baldwin doing working on such a low budget film

Safety was definitely not in the forefront of anyone’s mind.

Are you fucking kidding me?
