WASHINGTON—The White House press secretary was at the podium on Friday for the first time in 417 days.

Less than a month after President Trump tapped her for the role, Kayleigh McEnany held a 30-minute briefing, pledging to the socially distanced reporters in the room: “I will never lie to you.
