On Monday, June 13, Senate Bill 215 takes effect, allowing anyone 21 or older in Ohio to carry a concealed firearm unless state or federal law prohibits them from possessing a gun.

that he and First Lady Fran DeWine were “heartbroken” over the Uvalde school shooting and that he has offered Texas authorities any assistance that Ohio can provide. “Fran and I will keep the victims and their families in our prayers, and we ask all Ohioans to do the same,” the governor stated.

Gun-rights groups, including the Buckeye Firearms Association and Ohio Gun Owners, worried a “red-flag” law would deny due-process rights to gun owners and noted thatBuckeye Firearms has contributed a total of $8,500 to Ohio politicians since 2020, according to the Ohio secretary of state’s office.

Since 2020, the National Rifle Association’s political action committee has donated a total of $2,350 to Ohio lawmakers, according to state campaign-finance records. That includes a total of $1,100 to Ohio House Speaker Bob Cupp, a Lima Republican; $500 to state Sen. Niraj Antani, a Dayton-area Republican, in 2020; $250 to state Rep. Scott Wiggam, a Wooster Republican, in 2021; and $500 to Wilkin last January.

Pro-SB215 lawmakers also asserted during the legislative debate that permitless carry will make Ohioans safer by making it easier for them to carry a concealed firearm. “This bill puts the law-abiding citizen on a little more equal footing with those who do not care about the law and do not respect the law,” Wilkin said.DeWine is running for re-election against Democrat Nan Whaley, mayor of Dayton, during the 2019 mass shooting. AR 15 rifle kind-of weapon? Don't make me laugh. Why can't they start with banning those?

The people that carry now will keep carrying, whether or not they have a permit. There is zero proof crime goes up or shootings go up in any other state that has constitutional carry.

This is stupid

You forgot to add they don’t need a background check, a license or training. MikeDeWine and the Republicans need to be voted out!!!

Disgusting and irresponsible.

libbybenton718 Pay attention Ohio.

This is crazy

There is something seriously wrong with this country! It is absolutely falling apart at the seams!!!!!!!!

Thanks for making our state less safe, GovMikeDeWine

Big mistake

'...WELL REGULATED MILITIA...' It does not say, 'unregulated'. Safety, Training, Background Checks, Certification, Registration, More Training, and Recertification - that is what 'well regulated' means.

Yet they refuse to legalize marijuana hahahahahaha

Pretty sure this is not going to lead to more 'good guy with a gun' moments.

This Memorial Day let's all remember the slaughtered school children who bravely gave their lives so republican lawmakers could line their pockets with gun lobbyists money
