New York When Shelby Law gave birth to her baby seven weeks early in late March, she and her husband freely visited their newborn in the hospital's Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.
But three days later, Northside Cherokee Hospital in Camden, Georgia, changed its policies to suspend all visitors to its special care nurseries amid growing concerns over the coronavirus outbreak."We were told we were no longer allowed to visit our son Rory in the NICU," Law told CNN Business."We said goodbye to him and went home.
— Mairéad Mck April 1, 2020 Although bonding with babies remotely is not what many parents imagine, it's becoming a new normal for many. This heartbreaking! I am French and my son was in the ICU for 2 weeks at Necker in Paris when he was born. Just imagining to leave him alone there is terrible. May God give you courage and patience. My heart cries with you. God bless!!
We have a new baby due in the family soon and we have been told this.
This is heartbreaking. As a mother of 34 weeker preemies this hurts my soul. I remember the despair of having twins in the NICU and I can’t imagine the magnitude of pain these parents must be feeling. 💗
Heartbreak...
Thanks to CNN and other media for creating complete hysteria.
