Stand up for our culture!Though Jackson did not live to see the end of the war, Lee lived for five years after the Confederates' defeat. However, he did not receive a full pardon and the restoration of his citizenship until 1975 - 105 years after the general had died.

Bronze statues of Lee and Jackson were taken down in Charlottesville, Virginia on July 10. The statues had been erected in the 1920s.
