Antivaxxers are pushing unproven claims that gargling with a common antiseptic will prevent COVID-19.

Sep. 16, 2021 -- The idea that gargling with the common antiseptic Betadine will prevent COVID-19 is finding a home in corners of social media, but there’s no evidence it works. Even the manufacturer says so.

"Betadine Antiseptic First Aid products have not been approved to treat coronavirus," reads an official statement on the company."Products should only be used to help prevent infection in minor cuts, scrapes and burns. Betadine Antiseptic products have not been demonstrated to be effective for the treatment or prevention of COVID-19 or any other viruses."

Ugh... they keep revealing how uneducated a Dr spud they are. This is why the pandemic will never be over.

Have you also heard that WebMD is pushing a false and dangerous narrative of divisiveness, further separating Americans that ought to stand together during these times and, in actuality, threatening our very Union?

Running the same tired stories over and over, give it a rest!

No one is pushing this. FakeNews

🙄

Sorry but you lose credibility with posts like this. I don’t consider myself antivaxxer, took all vaccines in my life but I refuse to be part of human experiment.

Your use of the term 'antivaxxers' is pernicious and condescending.

Just like cloth masks, gargling and nasal sprays do not prevent Covid. They function to reduce viral load in the mouth and nasopharynx where much of the virus takes hold. Why would you have a problem with that?

Part of TrumpCures 😆

😠

There are no anti vax !There are people out which they don’t agree being controlled over a gene therapy!….A vaccine doesn’t require booster shots!(Tetanus is the only one ,every 10 years!)

WebMD has become a political site

Seems like everything that isn’t exactly lined up verbatim with the narrative and intense propaganda is labeled misinformation…. I think not.

I’ve never heard this ever. This sounds like misinformation about antivaxxers.

First I’ve ever heard this fake news. Y’all about to be Trendsetters? CNN will be next to spew this shit.

Natural Immunity is 20 times better than any vaccine.

Y’all must be bored. Never heard anyone say this until y’all wrote THIS article. Stop lying
