Anthony Rhulen, a producer known for 'The Butterfly Effect' and its sequel, died on Jan.15 at age 51

Rhulen was born in 1969 in Monticello, New York, and began his working life in insurance before starting a producing career in 2001 with the romantic thrillerHe went on to found the company Film Engine, which financed and produced thirteen films includingIn 2010, Rhulen received the Dream Award by Hollywood Arts in recognition of his work with homeless youth.

Rhulen is remembered for his generous nature and kind heart. He is survived by his mother Judy; siblings Erik, Harry and Suzy, along with nieces, nephews, cousins, and his former wife, actress Ashley Scott. Donations may be made to the charity of ones choice, or the Trevor Loughlin Foundation. At a later time, a memorial service will be held in honor of Rhulen's life.
