FAIRBANKS, Alaska - Democrat Angela “Fitch” Fowler is running for District 36 in the Alaska House of Representatives.
She said she is running because she wants to make sure everyone’s voice is heard. “I hope to bring my understanding of rural Alaska to the table to make sure that their concerns and opinions have a voice in discussion, whether it’s about fish, education or safety,” she explained. Fowler said she wants to pursue vocational and trade school opportunities for areas in Alaska that may not have them. “One of the things that I’ve been concerned about is when the big runway jobs and big construction jobs happen out in the villages. I’d like to see more of the people have an opportunity to have training so they could have some of those good jobs. It would improve the quality of their lives and it would also help the construction companies to have good, trained local workers.
She said she’s worked in construction for much of her adult life. “I’m a hard worker. I know what it’s like working long hours, and through my travels with the Village Veterinary Program, I’m very familiar with District 36.” Fowler added, “I want to push to continue to make improvements for people no matter where they live in the district.”Copyright 2022 KTVF.
