A 44-year-old Anchorage woman died and three others were injured Monday in a fiery head-on collision about 6 miles north of Seward, Alaska State Troopers said.
Authorities were called to Mile 7.2 of the Seward Highway at 5:35 p.m. after a southbound 2007 Jeep crossed into oncoming traffic and collided with a 2007 Dodge Dakota, troopersGood Samaritans pulled the driver and a passenger from the back seat of the truck, troopers said. They were both medevaced to an Anchorage hospital with serious injuries.The driver of the Jeep was also flown to an Anchorage hospital with injuries, according to a troopers spokesman.
The crash closed the Seward Highway in both directions for several hours. No citations or charges were immediately filed and troopers said the investigation is ongoing.
