This happened to me on an AA flight from SFO to MIA in Nov last year! Thankful my husband works for the FAA and knows the law and got up and talked to the flight attendant about the person and told me to stay calm. The disgruntled passenger behind me was reseated.

I think what he did was absolutely wrong. I recline my seat all the time. It reclines that's what you can do if you want to be more comfortable. For him to punch a ladies seat in front of him is terrible. I can't even begin to believe the stewardess gave her a notice!
