Amazon ordered employees to delete TikTok from their mobile devices, but then reversed itself, saying the email was sent 'in error'

In a statement, a company spokesperson said an email urging employees to immediately remove the short-video app from their devices was sent"in error.""There is no change to our policies right now with regard to TikTok," the spokesperson said. In its earlier email to employees Friday morning, obtained by CNN, Amazon said that due to"security risks, the TikTok app is no longer permitted on mobile devices that access Amazon email.

Here's what experts thinkThe original announcement would have represented the biggest company to warn its employees of TikTok as a possible security risk, following claims by US politicians that the app could undermine national security given its ties to China. Cybersecurity experts have been more cautious about that assessment.TikTok is owned by the world's most valuable startup, a Chinese company named ByteDance.

More paranoya over China? While practically all communication is 'read' by the USA and other entities. Remember Snowden. So what after all.

is there a more self centred organisation on earth than this greedy bunch of control freaks?

Amazon, forever an economic arm of US hegemony

Uh huh.

Ordered. Lmao, employees are not obliged to delete an app from their phone because of their employer has ordered it. If it is a company phone then that's different, but nope to personal.

Honestly, anyone that still has that app installed on their phone is an idiot anyway. Im blown away by people that willingly install spyware/malicious code onto their devices.

Does anybody suppose that WaPo will report that their boss messed up?

Saw the stocks drop !

realDonaldTrump is now captainoblivious

GlobalTimes_ ANI IndoPac_Info ZeeNews IndoPac_Info Amazon is inspired by Chaina 😄😄😄do but doesn't accept it।

MegaCelebratingVigil The message of Corona virus is repentance. Prepare the way. The Messiah is coming.

someone must have pressed all these wrong keys to create the email, the pressed the wrong button to send it. it was truly a mistake.

From company phones ok. Personal phones, not allowed to do that.

BaddCompani Did you happen to see this story?

I say come with im the type to leak all you'll and there information

Someone accidentally typed an email that happened to ban TikTok and then accidentally sent it to all staff. Answers the old question 'how long, with a room full of apes, before one painted the Mona Lisa?'. Not long it seems.

Breaking News? I just opened CNN USA Politics which should be renamed 'Hate Trump Here' One non constructive article after another all aimed at getting readers to hate their duly elected President. Fact check yourself CNN the joke is on you as your ratings continue to drop

What does the CCP have on JeffBezos ?

Lies from the top to the bottom,

Translation: after a flood of crybaby complaints, Amazon decided maybe private info isn't that important

What about the temerity of an employer to make such a demand in the first place ... ?

Amazon Bans TikTok From Employee Phones Over Security ConcernsAmazon, which has about 840,000 employees worldwide, has told company staff to delete TikTok from their phones because of potential security risks, Variety has confirmed. TikTok, the short-form vid… Hmmm 🤔 I guess Amazon Alexa secretly listening to our conversations in the room is not a security concern? I am not a TikTok user but the logic that these corrupt politicians and media use against it is lame. If they are concerned w/ govs spying on Americans, that goes for ALL social media. Also I am sure it has nothing to do w/ many TikTok viral stuff being politically left... I'm surprised given their commitment to carrying every possible product made in China. This is a blatant political move.
