Amazon’s Prime Day, which will take place Oct. 13 and 14, will bring an early start to the end-of-year shopping season

For years, Amazon’s annual Prime Day shopping extravaganza has pulled in sales during the lull of summer shopping. This year, it could help the company shatter its fourth-quarter earnings record.

Amazon.com Inc. early Monday confirmed that Prime Day will take place on Oct. 13 and 14, marking the second straight year the company has opted to extend the sales period to two days.
