An Amazon Studios show that had been slated to shoot in Georgia will no longer do so as a result of the state's controversial new abortion law.

An Amazon Studios show that had been slated to shoot in Georgia will no longer do so as a result of the state's controversial new abortion law.

For the past few months, employees of the 10-part series had been scouting the region for shooting locations, but after Gov. Brian Kemp signed the"heartbeat" bill into law, Morano pulled them. Executive producers Jane Featherstone and Naomi De Pear of Sister Pictures added in a statement to Variety that"no production commitments have yet been made to shoot in any location in the U.S."

However, Hollywood stands to make perhaps the biggest splash in Georgia, where many films and TV shows are made. Almost immediately after Kemp signed the Georgia bill, two filmmakers, David Simon of Blown Deadline Productions and Christine Vachon of Killer Films, announced that they'd no longer work in the state.

Amazon needs to keep their nose out of politics

Saving lives and keeping babies from being dismembered has no price.Every life matters.

Good for Amazon I can’t think of a logical reason to set foot in this hellhole of a state.

the real reason they done it is pure PR ...

I’m sure the people of Georgia are heartbroken and will never get over it. 🙄

Hollywood unites on killing babies, good for them.

Get the fu*k out!

Thanks for the name of the movie -“The Power.” Informed Patriots will participate since the director wants to play. We will NOT watch this film. Keep politics out of anything having to do with entertainment if you don’t want a flop.

The country is big enough. Farewell then!....

Great...the voters of Georgia and Pro-Life Americans will no longer watch this show. Amazon can pay the higher taxes of a lib state too ... Sounds like a win-win!

L

Hollywood elitists still don't understand real America...

Good BOYCOTT GEORGIA as that’s just a disgusting HATRED of Women and is against Catholic Faith, so thank you! And BOYCOTT ALABAMA, MISSOURI, LOUISIANA! Ridiculous trying to outdo the other states! Torture, Torment women, girls is ridiculous and we wil not stand for it at all!!

But seriously does Amazon think that matters to the republicans in office..it doesn’t It angers those who disagree in the 🍑 state_

good optics fellas! You protest states that punish baby killing. Now can you all leave for good?

amazon BRAVO

Good! Boycott states like that and drive out business.

Good

Looks like Georgia is getting cleaned up with the removal of this trash.

There is nothing controversial about not killing a baby with a heartbeat

Nobody cares

Good. I hope other studios emulate this and send a strong economic message.

Totally inconsequential. These draconian laws were hatched to force a showdown in the SCOTUS. I'm somewhat surprised that many people haven't caught on to this much-used tactic.

Amazon is Demo now huh? time to end my account! Bye

Was it because it was a reality program about abortion clinics?

Thank you Amazon.

Buckled under pressure.

Props to Amazon.

Zzzzzzz

OOoOOOooOO That'll certainly change their minds. You know, because people are only pro-life up until Hollywood says they can't be. 🙄
