The online behemoth on Tuesday is opening its first, full-size, cashierless grocery store. Five years in the making, the Amazon Go Grocery is in the Capitol Hill neighborhood of Seattle, in the Amazon corporate headquarters' backyard.. At 10,400 square feet, the store at 610 E. Pike St. incorporates the same technology found in the two dozen

"We're just getting started here," he said, declining to comment on how many of these grocery stores Amazon may open. "I think what we're trying to do here — and with all of our physical stores — is really work backwards from the customer, and deliver some differentiation." Some items, mainly in the produce department, are sourced from Whole Foods' providers. Items from national brands as well as a variety of Amazon's private labels, such as Happy Belly, are also for sale. The store includes a self-service coffee bar.

Quit unfairly promoting Amazon unless you're going to spend equal time promoting every other grocery chain in America

When will Amazon turn it all on its head? Amazon Food Now. You scan your prime code, walk into a building full of chefs cooking different dishes. You walk up and try a sample. You love it. Nearby is all the ingredients for that dish in a box. Pick it up and walk out.

I can’t wait for Amazon to open these in cities like SF & NYC where the laws don’t arrest for theft under $100 and there is no bail. The homeless will eat for free at Bezos’ expense! 😂

It's in the back yard of Amazon HQ and is truly revolutionary. Scanning QR codes will be the future (eventually implanted into humans) and will have an immense effect over the global economy and cashless stores like this one will become a normal within a decade.
