Driven by politically moderate or conservative baby boomers who believe progressive groupthink has taken over college campuses, some alumni groups urge schools to protect free speech, sometimes withholding donations as a pressure tactic.

Born on college campuses, free-speech debates have returned, leaving students, faculty and administrations caught in the crosshairs. WSJ’s Jason Bellini goes back to class to see why some students have had it with free speech.

I hope that this teaches people the lesson that higher education must never be run by the government. It is essential that paying parents and private donors be able to take control when universities go rogue, as most of them currently are doing. Sounds like the market place of ideas has determined they don’t want what you’re selling. In other words, it works. How does this differ from gays or feminist experiences 50-60 years ago.
