I don’t drink cocktails before 6 p.m. This is not a hard and fast rule, and weekends are sometimes exceptions, but for the most part I’m not mixing myself anuntil evening rolls around. This specificity, to me, is what makes cocktails so delightful—they’re beverages for a time and place, like eggnog or date shakes .and six o’clock rolls around, what I do not want is another can of the off-brand seltzer I’ve been gulping throughout the workday.
No one likes the feeling of deprivation—this is why gluten-free croissants exist, however ill-advised—so when I’m not drinking, I set myself up for success. Sure, I could stick to sparkling water, but why deny myself when Ghia’s Le Spritz fills that cocktail-shaped hole in my heart?
hmmmmm interesting. . . . but next time can we get all of the booze and some of the bubbles?
