“Dave Bateman has been the worst representative of Utah tech for years,” tweeted Blake McClary. “We all know this. It’s time for him to step down from Entrata and enjoy his tax haven in Puerto Rico and not embarrass us.”

The tech community is uniquely situated to counter festering hate, foster healing and to help Utah’s image in the process.

“I write this email knowing that many of you will think I’m crazy after reading it,” he acknowledged at the opening of his invective. It also isn’t the first time he has engaged in this kind of disgraceful conduct. His social media feeds are a cesspool of misogyny, bigotry and bizarre fringe conspiracy theories.

I love Robert Gehrke but there are a lot of people who aren't shocked by this. And everytime I am, I have to remind myself that.

I agree well except have you heard j Reuben Clark hated Jews AND liked hitler?

Much of tech is infested with these whackadoodle antisemites and assorted conspiracy loons. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.

Let's not forget that others of Utah's beloved tech sector have taken the taxpayer for a ride during the COVID pandemic. With neighbors like these, who needs enemies?

Hate to break it to you, but everyone in tech is embarrassing.
