- The American Civil Liberties Union and Planned Parenthood filed a lawsuit on Friday challenging a law enacted by Alabama last week that bans nearly all abortions and makes performing the procedure a felony punishable by up to 99 years in prison.
“This dangerous, immoral, and unconstitutional ban threatens people’s lives and well-being and we are suing to protect our patients’ rights,” Leana Wen, president of the Planned Parenthood Federation of America, said in a statement. Also on Friday, Missouri Governor Mike Parson signed a bill into law that bans abortion beginning in the eighth week of pregnancy.
Of course they do but the important thing is that Americans are waking up and abortion as birth control is blessedly on the way out
Planned Parenthood only cares about money. It’s not about women’s rights, or health. It’s really not a right to kill your baby anyhow.
Wonderful! We need to get this issue to the Supreme Court. Pro lifers need to slow play this though, as we need RBG off the bench and replaced by a moderate to conservative. I think most people can live with an absolute limit to abortion (truly life threatening exclusion)
