We might be too focused on the over-the-ear style as the only option. We make them with shock cord that sits at the base of the neck. The rigid nose wire makes them stay in place nicely. A cord lock allows the wearer to loosen the ties when the mask isn't needed.
Made mine out of an old military uniform. The cloth is not very breathable.
