Nature journals raise the bar on sex and gender reporting in researchAuthors will be prompted to provide details on how sex and gender were considered in study design. If we approach this sensibly it's really not that complicated. Essentially sex is binary and gender relates to identity and is influenced by (and to some extent akin to) culture. I suggest addressing humans who were assigned female at birth as 'people with XX allosomes'. Shining a light the male centric research balance can only be a good thing. Also, the distinction between sex and gender must be reinstated, given the implications of blurring the 2. 👍🏻 Thumbs up from me.
