A Texas couple who landed themselves a rare night out with friends says it was cut short when the restaurant kicked them out for wearing face masks, which they say they wore to protect their immunocompromised 4-month-old son.
Natalie Wester and her husband, Jose Lopez-Guerrero, joined a group of friends at a restaurant and bar in Rowlett, about 20 miles northeast of Dallas, on September 10."We are new parents and in the middle of a pandemic, we don't really get out a whole lot," Wester told CNN."But that Friday night, my mom happened to be available to watch our son. ... Living in a pandemic, being isolated and away from others is a big deal for our mental and social health.
Oh well! And the owner basically got on TV live and called the government out by sticking to his word and telling them that if you have a mask you're not welcome in my restaurant I own this restaurant I can serve and deny service to who I want. Lol

Young children should not be wearing masks. The restaurant did the right thing to stop them from embarrassing or harm their child.
Why would anybody be triggered about someone taking precautions and wearing a mask? Does the US have dearth of real issues that they have to stir some sh*t up? You can understand the rationale behind mandating masks by businesses but the reverse just doesn't make sense.
Texas continues to show it's regressive thinking, from dilapidated power grids, to attempts to control women's bodies, to their inexplicable unwillingness to confront a virus that is killing their citizens, everyday. Texas seems to want to move backwards.
There is so much drama in the US regarding masks, some get kicked out for wearing masks some for not wearing them. Everyone then seems a victim of some unparalled hate. it's so much that it is now hilarious for people outside US.

Just how protecting of their ill baby are they? They went to a restaurant (can't eat with a mask on), and the father's beard makes masks useless, anyway.

if the kid is so weak you can wear your filthy clothes home from the supermarket, eat without a mask, but need to wear one ... Stay the f home. I am immunocompromised. I have left the house 2x this year. My wife changes and showers before she comes to me (her fear not mine)
