Benriner, which has been making mandoline slicers since the 1940s, is the best in my opinion. This Japanese mandoline isn’t just more efficient than a knife; it does things no knife can do.
Benriner updated the design in 2018, and although it’s a little flashier than the one Tamar kept in her kit, it’s still easy to use—even if you’re a beginner home cook—and sharp as hell. The new Benriner handheld mandoline—which comes in Classic, Super, and Jumbo sizes—has an adjustable straight blade.
20 years ago, I bought an OXO Good Grips mandolin that faithfully served me. Couple of months ago, I replaced it with a new one. The blade edge couldn't slice a beefsteak tomato. What to do with a dull blade right out of the gate? Disappointed. 🤨
How to scare all chefs in one photo
And for slicing and dicing your fingers if you’re not careful
Lol, been working in kitchens for 9 years, and everyonen says the same thing. Ive never experienced it or understand how a trained professional knife handler known as a chef, nips their tips with a sharp knife like apparatus. Just sayin, some people are just spazs ina kitchen lol
Buy some band aids… the big waterproof kind
Also can take your finger clean off
I have several and my advice is never to use one with wet hands; things go bad quickly! Kitchen towels or paper towels are a must.
macnificent123 I’d have no fingers left, if I had one of those 😫😫😫
I'm getting a mandolin myself soon, it'll make making salads a breeze!
Slices off your fingertip faster than any other device, that's for sure!
