A Black man who was wrongfully sentenced to death in 1994 for the murder and rape of a White woman has been exonerated

Howard, who is Black, was sentenced to death in 1994, after being wrongfully convicted for the murder and rape of 84-year-old Georgia Kemp, who is White, in Columbus, Mississippi, according to the Innocence Project, which represented Howard. Howard was initially tied to the crime by a doctor who compared bite marks on Kemp's body to Howard's teeth.

As a result, the case was reversed, rendered and remanded. Howard was released from Mississippi's death row in December, and he was exonerated on Friday, the Innocence Project said. Bad evening to as in Uganda join Ugandans to save BEBI WINE under house arrest.

Who passed and supported the crime bill that helped him get wrongfully sentenced? JoeBiden

SeanTheTerrible On October 3rd of 1995, we saw a black man, who killed a white woman and a white man, being acquitted from two counts of murder. The reason he was acquitted? Because he's black.

Wishing there's more exonerations of blacks sacrificed for white privileges all over the country, not only in prisons, custodies, but in everywhere injustice reigns.

I am so, so happy for him. At the same time, I am so, so sad that he lost so many years of his life. Often I think about how many others are wrongly convicted and it kills me.

He better be rich for life

Why couldn't CNN just put 'man' and 'woman' ?

I hope to god he gets a cool 26million

I am so HAPPY for this man

Hope he gets $10m a year for each of the 26, because there is no getting back that time. Just think of the mental hell he endured, knowing in his heart, mind, and soul that he was an innocent man on death row... for 26 long years. Abhorrent.

So you’ll compensate him so he can start his life again right?

I hope his future is full of opportunities!!

Does he have a name? or just 'a black man'?

Another poor soul that shows why we have BLM

Incorrect. He was convicted of Murder and rape. It had nothing to do with the victims race.

I know this dentist and he sent a lot of people to jail that were innocent. Y’all should read the book on him “the cadaver king”. He is also on the innocence projects Netflix show. A lot of damage was done.

What if you had determined that only after the death sentence had been carried out? How would you bring him back to life?

Yes there is a God!

How can you release this poor man who suffered enough injustice in a world dealing with a pandemic and how can he even process the fact that horde of cavemen & Neo-NAZIs attacked theCapitol on broad daylight in 2021!

Why does it matter his colour

26 years of his life taken! An absolute travesty of justice 💔

There’s still many of them inside there

Give him a billion

swatkins109 This is why I am against death penalty. You can try to right a wrong, but you can't bring back the dead.

🙏🏽♾🙏🏽 im sorry they didn’t believe you

26 years.
