Congratulaciones

nbcbayarea I’m so very honored to have called this man, Donald Clifton Ross, a close family friend. Don was shot and captured on D-Day while parachuting when his plane overshot the drop zone. RIP Don.

Morning_Joe That’s roughly the same amount that has crossed our southern border this year.

nbcbayarea 150,000 thank yous to each and every one of them for the freedoms we have in the greatest country on earth! We're not perfect but we are free!

Although this is beautiful to see, brave giants take on evil, we have to stop🛑these🛑wars🗣no more

Morning_Joe Proud of my late Dad, who stormed Normandy in defense of freedom & democracy, to defeat evil and inhumanity. He was awarded a silver star for his bravery, not a deferment.

nynjpaweather Absolutely awesome. Amazingly brave men that put an end to the fucking Krauts.

Thank you for posting these. It helps us to remember the great sacrifices these brave men and boys made

Photo gallery: D-Day, 75 years ago“As one officer said,” war correspondent Ernie Pyle wrote shortly after the invasion, “the only way to take a beach is to face it and keep going. It is costly at first but it’s the only way.” On June 6, 1944, Allied forces launched a massive invasion of the French coast at Normandy, opening a new front that helped defeat Nazi Germany and end the war in Europe within a year. “In the light of a couple of days of retrospection,” Pyle wrote from the front, “we sit and talk and call it a miracle that our men ever got on at all or were able to stay on.” As president later, unfortunately, Eisenhower put religion into the pledge of allegiance and had the leader of Iran killed for nationalizing oil, both of which had tragic and longstanding consequences. The fight against tyranny continues The Normandy landings were the landing operations on Tuesday, 6 June 1944 of the Allied invasion of Normandy in Operation Overlord during World War II. The operation began the liberation of German-occupied France (and later Europe) from Nazi control.

75 years after D-Day, a former German soldier is worried for EuropeAs the world prepares to mark the 75th anniversary of D-Day, a former German solider said he fears a fraying of the alliances that were created in the wake of the war, which brought peace and stability to Europe. I think it easy... Great ACCOMPLISHMENTS! To quote my dear MaggieThatcher 🇬🇧🇺🇸 please interview an American WW2 veteran who shares this opinion with this German. They don't exist. He should be more worried about the german nation and the millions of muslims that have turned germany into the rape capital of the world .

Post-war western alliance in doubt 75 years after D-Day'What the world learned beginning in World War I and culminating in World War II … is that old policies of each state being completely autonomous decisionmaker, doing only what it wished was too fragile of a basis for a well-ordered civilization.' Dear NBC what the hell? World War I was caused by the polar opposite of your descriptiion It was because of alliances between everyone that the assassination in Sarajevo instead of leading to a border conflict between Austro-Hungary and Kingdom of Serbia dragged everyone into it A major lesson lost to time - if only the world community can hold on to that critical life lesson Of course. Civilization is under attack.

The D-day photos that must be seenSome photos must be taken, some images must be seen. These thoughts must have motivated photographer Robert Capa 75 years ago as he plunged off a landing craft and onto Omaha Beach with an early wave of the D-day landings. With respect: it’s been researched that Capa (& his later fans) falsely embellished his D-Day experience. Eyewitness & other evidence shows he wasn’t in an early wave, didn’t come under fire, was never reported dead etc. Good photographer, but a liar.

Many Chinese know little about the bloodshed in Beijing 30 years agoIf a Tiananmen anniversary ever does pass without a flicker of dissent, that would set up the Chinese nation, and not just its rulers, for a backlash across the democratic world Until then...champagne socialism! lets forget about the sad past and move on. Give us a break. China needs to forcibly integrate Taiwan, and South Tibet, otherwise the enemies of China: US, Japan and India will exploit that.
