At least seven people were shot in Louisville as protesters turned out to demand justice for Breonna Taylor, a black woman fatally shot by police in her home in March. Police say they did not discharge their weapons.

Louisville Metro Police said early Friday that at least one person was in critical condition. “No officers discharged their service weapons,” and all seven shot were civilians, police spokesman Sgt. Lamont Washington wrote in an email to The Associated Press.

Thursday night’s demonstration came as protesters across the country, in cities including Los Angeles, Denver, New York and Memphis, turned out in alliance with demonstrators in Minneapolis, where George Floyd became the latest black man to die in police custody.Taylor’s boyfriend made on March 13, moments after the 26-year-old emergency medical technician was shot eight times by narcotics detectives who knocked down her front door. No drugs were found in the home.

At one point, protesters took turns hoisting the stone hand of King Louis XVI after it was broken off his statue outside City Hall. Shots were later heard, prompting some of the protesters to scramble for safety.just before midnight, sharing a Facebook post that appealed for people to remain non-violent as they demand justice and accountability. “As Breonna’s mother says let’s be peaceful as we work toward truth and justice,” the mayor wrote.

“Louisville, thank you so much for saying Breonna’s name tonight. We are not going to stop until we get justice,” a woman says in the video. “But we should stop tonight before people get hurt. Please go home, be safe and be ready to keep fighting.”

Demanding justice, is that what they were doing?

SethAbramson Putin is having a good day with American protests. Trump doesn't give a shit.

White Supremacist infiltration of the police:

Police on the loose or ultra racists in crowd taking pot shots at black ppl? If the police didn't shoot as reported last night.

AngelaInKy502 Wow wording here sucks. They shot her in her home. The police say they did not discharge their weapons LAST NIGHT during the protest.

AudreyGarden And that MIGHT be true ... but there’s no trust. And the distrust in certain states, counties & towns/cities, for damn good reason, are NOT TRUSTED. 🤷‍♀️ I’m a WW & I live in a blue state. I would always prefer a Statie to a local cop. No Statie has ever tried to coerce fellatio.

SethAbramson Nobody, no matter how much they try, will be able to excuse, justify, rationalize, or defend the MURDER IN PLAIN SIGHT of Mr. George Floyd! NO JUSTICE in America, none in Trump & Barr’s MobbedUp Justice Dept, as long as this murder is left uncharged unprosecuted. WeCantBreathe

SethAbramson Who shot?

SethAbramson Well, there are 'official' pieces and 'unofficial' ones, that many cops carry. Sonofabitch here may be the actions of 'agents provocateurs' from who the hell knows where. Had a cop been hit..there was a real, sorrowful tragedy in the making.

SethAbramson Yeah, a cop wasn't breaking Autozone windows, either...Maybe it wasn't an OFFICIAL weapon.

SethAbramson Do the bullets say that?

SethAbramson Yeah, like this cop didn’t smash all the windows at AutoZone.

SethAbramson Oh ... So Breonna Taylor was murdered by the police with magic bullets? BS!

If it was a business owner I’d say it’s justified. But I’m sure it was a moron of some sort. And good luck finding them.

Domestic terrorism

Remember 'Arab Spring'? Well this is the USA spring that will kick Trump out off the White House.

Must be an election year.

No time to riot like 2 months after the fact!

After murdering one, shooting 7 more.

So how did the shootings occur? Oh, yes...blame the oppressed, blame those protesting oppression...

Trump says shoot the looters!

Cops lie as much as Trump.

💔

The actions of the police in/around this event would seem to suggest otherwise.

american apartheid

Another police department that’s rotten and too lazy to clean their own house. It’s just stunning that this just keeps happening. You’d think those riots in California would have been a learning experience that there’s a limit to how militant and racist we’ll let cops get.

Black People please be united, Risk the fire of the American authorities, move on! Risk the fire of brutal repression, move forward! Forward! Forward! Into!

Get up! Black People who don't want to be slaves! Build your flesh and blood into America's new glory! When minorities are at its most dangerous, Everyone was forced to make a final roar. Get up! Get up! Get up!

More protestors

Well, realDonaldTrump called for violence. Blood is on his hands too.

If you going to act like a fool then you going to get shot

Police officers need to understand the true nature of preserving the peace means preserving lives. Police officers need to abide by a strict rules of engagement that ensures all people are treated with human dignity and have the right to live to see a proper judicial trial.

They’re lying most likely. You don’t think they can get hold of illegal weapons?

We at least know one thing, people are nothing but trouble in some government officials’ eyes...... AllLivesMatters

These are not protesters! They are rioters! CRIMINALS!!
