RaminSetoodeh I’m in no way excusing the lack of diversity at this year’s Oscars, but the real person that JLo played is suing the producers of that film, so it might not be as great as first thought.

Yeah but it’s not a fair comparison. Julia and Sandra were already critically acclaimed actresses. J Lo was not. (I love J Lo in Hustlers and wish she had been nominated.)

1 reason why Jennifer Lopez not getting a nomination is fine - there were 5 other better female supporting performances that deserved it.
It’s not, because the honest answer is that movie was deeply flawed, putting it mildly, and JLo was merely the best part of an over-hyped film. I was conned into renting it by the praise, but no one is going to force me to say it was good.
Reason no.1 - JLO is at best an average actor and doesn't deserve an nomination just because she worked hard. No other reasons needed.

the real snub was lupita nyongo in Us hustlers was good i'll give her that but her performance wasn't a big deal it's an acceptable for a golden globe and enough there were a lot of great performanes with no recognition like awkwafina in the farewell and ana de armas
