There was shouting. There was overtalk. There were lots of attacks. So what to make of that muddle? Here are 4 takeaways that emerged as the dust settled on the 10th Democratic debate 👇

Presidential candidates Sen. Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass., Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., and former Vice President Joe Biden participate in the Democratic debate. Presidential candidates Sen. Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass., Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., and former Vice President Joe Biden participate in the Democratic debate. The Democrats debated for the 10th time Tuesday night and it was a bit of a mess. There was shouting. There was overtalk. There were lots of attacks.

There was an urgency to Biden on Tuesday night, because this state could be his last stand. Asked whether he would continue on if he doesn't win South Carolina, Biden responded,"I will win South Carolina."Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders and former Vice President Joe Biden talk before the Democratic debate.Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders and former Vice President Joe Biden talk before the Democratic debate.Sanders is the front-runner, and the candidates tried to take him down a few pegs.

"Occasionally it might be a good idea to be honest about American foreign policy," Sanders said."And that includes the fact that America has overthrown governments all over the world in Chile, in Guatemala, in Iran. And when dictatorships, whether it is the Chinese or the Cubans, do something good, you acknowledge that. But you don't have to trade love letters with them."

Bloomberg still has a problematic record for a good share of Democratic voters — lavish campaign spending or not. He was on the defensive again for his"stop and frisk" policy as mayor. And Warren reprised her criticism of nondisclosure agreements at Bloomberg's company. Her attack, though, didn't seem to have the same resonance as it did in the Nevada debate, when it was heard the first time.

So, do these candidates think this is all a “sideshow” as NPR has characterized it?

Do you aren't going to say anything about Biden going senile m

This is ridiculous lol, it only serves to help sanders or re-elect trump

Liz is obviously running for VP.

These dog and pony shows are bad for both parties and needs to be abandoned.

The takeaway is that CBSNews should never “moderate” another debate. Poor questions and no control.

People are calling for more 'civil' Democratic Party debates. Will 'civil' defeat trump?

Pete landed a big punch against Bernie.. that he will hurt the Dem brand and down ballots. Ie if Bernie wins, we all loose.

1. Moderators sucked. 2. A paid off audience doesn’t sound authentic. 3. Buttigieg can only communicate in West Wing platitudes. 4. Bloomberg’s extra prep didn’t do diddly. winecavedebate

Time to put them each in a soundproof box onstage and when their time expires the moderators kill their mic....silencing them right on time.

That non of them are in control and can't stop complaining about the greatest nation in the world.

There was lots of farting and kweefing too!

The Monitors Did a Terrible Job! Monitor ,Monitor , Monitor ,obviously you need a class on it! I've seen Town Halls better Monitored!!✔️

Remember this behavior. They act like children when faced with a little competition. If they act this way now, imagine how childish and emotionally charged they will be if working as president We've been there and done that don't want it again Time to cast away our 2 party system

Not watching it until they’re down to the top three. It’s like watching grandparents and aunts /uncles argue over the news.

Don't ever let CBS do another democratic debate

A key takeaway is that there have been too many debates, further numbing voters. Someone needs to drop out and help create a cleaner field to focus on beating Trump in November.

The moderators did a terrible job and Bloomberg clearly paid audience members to cheer for him.

That one of them are worth supporting.

Takeaway: Bernie Sanders is the runaway frontrunner, and there's nothing the DNC can do about it.

Key takeaway - primary season is too long. We need a national primary. Of course, when you have dozens of debates infighting occurs. The process is flawed.

Bernie won

The moderators didn’t really moderate. 🤷🏼‍♀️

The takeaway was... Trump won.
