This morning's shooting at a Florida naval base marks the fourth shooting incident to occur on a military base in the U.S. this year, and the second just this week.

in Virginia Beach, Virginia, on April 5, 2019, a 25-year-old male Navy sailor was killed by base security after shooting a female sailor in the parking lot. The woman was taken to the hospital for non-life threatening injuries.

Navy police reported the scene as an active shooting incident and it was later deemed a"domestic" incident, according to Navy Times. A memorial is set up early at Fort Hood in Killeen, Texas, on Nov. 10, 2009, for victims of an Army psychiatrist who went on a shooting rampage that killed 13 people and injured dozens.
