The Prince and Princess of Wales, William and Kate, attended Wednesday night’s NBA game between the Boston Celtics and Miami Heat in Boston. The team confirmed the royal visit to TD Garden in a pregame email sent to reporters.

William and Kate are visiting the United States for the first time in eight years. The British royals are in Boston to attend the Earthshot Prize on Friday night, an international contest centered around environmentalism.

William and Kate will also reportedly visit the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library, Harvard University, and other institutions around the hub. The couple teased their arrival prior to the game.

The royals met with members of the Boston Celtics Shamrock Foundation to learn about a current partnership with Boston Medical Center.

The in-game Heroes Among US award will go to a local climate activist, the team announced, and the Prince and Princess will join a number of high-ranking Bostonians at the game.
