Kitsap County Sheriff’s detectives have arrested three men in connection to the 2017 murders of the Careaga family in Seabeck, the office confirmed Monday.
All three suspects were booked into Kitsap County jail on felony arrest warrants. The county has not released the names of the suspects, and identifies them as 43 to 50-year-old men from Bremerton and Gig Harbor.
Their warrants list 16 individual felony charges, ranging from aggravated murder to arson.
The three suspects will be arraigned Tuesday at the Kitsap County courthouse in Port Orchard.
Charges stem from an incident in which deputies responded to a report of “something violent” at a Seabeck home in Feb. 2017, but couldn’t immediately go inside because the house was on fire.
Once the fire was out, investigators found the bodies of three people inside.
A fourth body was later found in a burned truck in Mason County.
Hunter E. Schaap, 16, Johnathon F. Higgins, 16, Christale Lynn Careaga, 37, and John Careaga, 43, all died of homicidal violence.
