Someone wise once said that there is a time and place for everything and Megan Thee Stallion is living up to those words. At the Billboard Music Awards 2022, an event where celebrities show up and show out, the Hot Girl Coach proved that there is a time for fashion and there is a time for comfort. Case in point: Meg wearing comfy slides right before hitting the red carpet.
The 2022 BBMAs took place on May 15 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. As celebs made their way to the event, Megan’s custom Mugler ombré black and beige cut-out dress proved to be one of the highlights of the red carpet. However, TikTok user @girlbosstown took to the app to share that the “Savage” rapper did not arrive wearing her full look though her glam was done and she was already clad in her dress.
“The best way to enter an award show,” the user captioned the video, in which Megan was spotted wearing padded beige Off-White slides rather than the open-toed black stilettos she rocked later. Hey, every minute counts, and those of us who wear heels know this well.

Aside from the pre-show shoe swap, Megan Thee Stallion had a very memorable night at the BBMAs. Although unfortunately Dua Lipa couldn’t be there as she's on the European leg of her Future Nostalgia Tour, Meg did perform “Sweet Pie” during the awards show as well as “Plan B” — in another custom Mugler piece may we add. She also took home the trophy for Top Rap Female Artist for the second time and had some very interesting interactions with Cara Delevingne.
With upcoming performances at Preakness Live in Baltimore, Primavera Sound in Barcelona, as well as the Summer Sonic Festival in Japan, we can’t wait to see more knockout and relatable style moments from the Hot Girl Coach.
